Suzie’s private practice includes children, adolescents, families and adults. Suzie shares her time between Children’s Hospital and her private practice office within the offices of Lowry Speech Therapy. Our blend of backgrounds, and skills, offers an ongoing opportunity to collaborate on complex cases, and is designed to provide a broader variety of services to meet all of our clients’ needs. She offers a variety of traditional, and complimentary interventions, (Art therapy and Animal Assisted Interactions therapy) and works closely with clients to design a plan to provide a means of discovery of the authentic self, inherent strengths, and exploration of the challenges they face; all the while, introducing tools and mechanisms to provide relief, empowerment, confidence, and increased self-worth. Friends Convention for young people who stutter is coming to Denver!!!

The Friends Convention is a a national convention put on by The National Association of Young People Who Stutter. The convention will be in Denver this year from July 19th -21st www.friendswhostutter.org

FRIENDS is the only national organization dedicated solely to empowering young people who stutter and their families. Our mission is to provide support and education to children and teens who stutter, their families and clinicians.

FRIENDS is a non-profit, volunteer organization directed by Lee Caggiano, a mother of a son who stutters and a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in stuttering. Founded by in 1997 by John Ahlbach, an adult who stutters and Lee Caggiano. Painfully aware of the urgent need of support for young people and their parents, and of the paucity of available services, FRIENDS was founded to provide this much needed support. Years of personal and professional involvement in the self-help/support movement have allowed us to create a compassionate, knowledgeable and empowering organization. Our members include the young people who are our focus, their parents and siblings but also adults who stutter and Speech Language Pathologists that have a special interest in stuttering

Our annual conventions and regional one day conferences provide the opportunities for life changing experiences that can change long lasting feelings about stuttering and offer new hope for a life with stuttering. FRIENDSseeks to make life easier for young people who stutter and their families by:

Publishing e-Reaching Out , a bi-monthly electronic newsletter Reaching Out, a quarterly digest of reflections and information on the stuttering experience for young people.

We are pleased to welcome Theodore to the practice! Theodore is a a baby Dwarf Hamster and he couldn’t be cuter! The kids love to watch him through the glass and he can often be found rolling around the office in his hamster ball. He brings smiles to many faces.

The Rocky Mountain Branch of the International Dyslexia Association is a fantastic resource for any family with struggling readers. They are showing HBO’s new film “Journey into Dyslexia” at Bethany Luthern Church in Cherry Hills Village on January 28th . They are offering two showings: 10:00-12:00 and 12:30-2:30. If you haven’t checked out their website before, it’s full of amazing resources. They host a variety of events throughout the year for students, parents and professionals.
